Satin is the name for the weave which creates a fabric that is shiny and soft with beautiful drape. Satin fabric is characterized by a soft, lustrous surface on one side, with a duller surface on the other side.
Taffeta is the stiffer, crisper sister fabric to satin. Taffeta is fine, crisp plain-woven fabric with a lustrous surface as well.
Satin and taffeta only have stretch when spandex is added. Most SmartGlamour items in these fabric have stretch – but not all, so please read the product descriptions for more information.
Satin and taffeta must be dry cleaned – you do not want to get water on them as they may stain.
