Our February Model of the Month is Ariana! Ariana joined the SG family in Fall 2017 and has participated in two runway shows and a wedding campaign since. Learn more about them below!

1. Aside from occasionally modeling for SmartGlamour – what do you do?
When I am not modeling for the ethical and inclusive fashion company, SmartGlamour, I can be found in NYC working for an esteemed recruiting firm. My role ensures the smoothness of business to consumer/ clients interactions as well as actualizing a productive atmosphere by acting as support to a team of talented recruiters. I also enjoy working with my brilliant friends as part of the art collective NDNTFD, which offers a platform for historically silenced voices in the realm of art. In between these, I catch up on favorite shows with my lovely partner while playing with my three cats: Reese, Hitch and Kamilah.
2. How did you get involved with the brand?
I am a former roommate of Bear, an awesome friend and great model. When they informed me of the inclusive nature of SmartGlamour, I knew this queer enby was gonna find community! Thanks Bear!

3. You’ve modeled for us multiple times – what makes you continue to come back?
The warmth. Whether modeling the bluest of blues or fieriest of reds, I always find myself uplifted by consistent support and celebration. I can see it in the smiles and excited waves of the other models as new bonds are seamlessly formed.
4. What does body positivity mean to you?
Body positivity is a series of steps. See body. Learn body. Love body. Our bodies are so much more than as we appear. I enjoy learning about the mechanics of my body and as I do, the outside begins to have a deeper story than previously read. Similar to mechas but with a squish factor.
5. If there is a message you could put across to women/femmes/non binary folks through your modeling photos – what would that be?
No icon has ever existed without their curated expression of existence. Ask yourself what makes YOU smile and work from there.
6. What is your advice to people who would like to give modeling a try?
Easier said than done, as I am still working on implementing this but, allow yourself to be. Fully commit to yourself in the moment and your poses will feature a natural glow.
