Our next Model of the Month is Chrisandra! Chrisandra modeled in our very first launch collection and runway show back in Spring 2014. Since then, she’s participated in two other shoots and 1 runway show. She’s a mother and a working model. Learn more about her below!
1. Aside from occasionally modeling for SmartGlamour – what do you do?
Besides occasionally modeling for Smart Glamour, I am a full-time mommy of four. I am a professional Plus Size Model represented by Bicoastal Mgmt. I am the current Fit Model for Eloquii and Target Swimwear. I had previously been employed as a certified Foreign Language Teacher in the NYC school system. I am also a skilled makeup artist, although I am primarily working as a model now. I love to travel in my free time, sometimes I’m traveling now also for work!
2.How did you get involved with the brand?
I found the opportunity to work with Smart Glamour through a Modelmayhem.com post a few years back.
3.You’ve modeled for us multiple times – what makes you continue to come back?
I’ve modeled for Smart Glamour a few times and I really enjoy the positive energy of Mallorie and the other models.
4. What does body positivity mean to you?
Body positivity means that we appreciate the look and usefulness of our bodies, and help others appreciate theirs.
5. If there is a message you could put across to other women through your modeling photos – what would that be?
My message is : Be the YOU that YOU want to be! As a model a person must often change to attract different clients, but I think it’s also important to retain some of your uniqueness or else you get rather muddled down in a selection of people.
6. What is your advice to other women who would like to give modeling a try?
I think there are more opportunities in Modeling than people realize. A lot of people only focus on the Fashion aspect however there is so much more work, especially in Commercial Print, Promo Videos/ Web Content. Research all options and prepare! And don’t give up, so many are good enough, it’s just you have to stick to it.
