One of my biggest personal gripes with the fashion industry is how exclusionary it is – not just in size and price accessibility – but in pretension. Everyone wears clothing – yet the industry at large spends money + energy making folks feel left out, not good enough. I won’t go into too many details, for the privacy of both her and my model – but suffice it to say, she had never seen that before, and this is why just one example of why representation is so important.
